Donald Trump Returns to Social Media with YouTube Reinstatement

Donald Trump Returns to YouTube Following Channel Ban Lift

After being banned from the video-sharing network for a period of two years, Donald Trump’s account on YouTube has been brought back online.

This decision is in line with those made by Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, as well as Twitter, which is owned by Elon Musk.

YouTube Reverses Course on Trump Channel Ban

In January 2021, YouTube announced that the former president of the United States would no longer be allowed to upload videos to the platform because his channel had violated the site’s policies regarding the incitement of violence.

According to YouTube’s press account, however, his account has been restored and is once again accessible online.

YouTube, which is owned by Google, stated on Twitter that beginning today, the Donald J. Trump channel would no longer be limited and will be able to upload new video.

“We carefully reviewed the persistent potential of real-world violence, while also weighing the chance for voters to hear equally from major national contenders in the lead up to an election,” the statement reads. “In light of our findings, we have decided not to air the debate.”

“Just like every other channel on YouTube, this channel will continue to be held to the same standards that we have established,”

Prohibitions imposed on various forms of technology
Prior to this, YouTube prevented President Trump from uploading videos to its platform days after his followers stormed the United States Capitol in Washington, DC, on January 6, 2021.

During the process by which the United States Congress attempted to validate Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election, hundreds of protesters broke into the building.

Following the outbreak of violence, Mr. Trump’s accounts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter were all terminated.

After a few more months had passed, he finally introduced his very own social media network called Truth Social.

However, in 2022, Donald Trump made the announcement that he would run for president of the United States in 2024, and ever since then, his accounts on each of these sites have been revived.

In addition to the 87 million people who follow him on Twitter, the 34 million people who do so on Facebook, and the 23 million people who do so on Instagram, he also has more than 2.6 million subscribers on YouTube.

Yet, despite the fact that Mr. Trump has a large following on YouTube, there is no assurance that he will resume publishing videos there.

On Friday, however, he published a post on Facebook for the first time in more than two years. The post consisted of a brief video clip of the victory speech he gave in 2016, along with a message that simply said, “I’M BACK!
