In addition to the minister, there were seven other people in the helicopter. Denys Monastyrsky was one of them.

According to official reports, his first deputy minister and the state secretary were also killed when the helicopter they were traveling in crashed in the suburb of Brovary.

Since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the 42-year-old interior minister, who was a prominent member of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s cabinet, has played a key role in informing the public about the casualties caused by Russian missile strikes. He also played a key role in providing the public with updates on the situation.

The head of Ukraine’s National Police, Ihor Klymenko, said on his Facebook page that the helicopter belonged to Ukraine’s state emergency service.

Even though there is no proof that the crash was anything but an accident, Monastyrsky is widely thought to be the most important person to die in Ukraine since Russia’s war started.
Minister Oleksandr Turchynov was killed when his helicopter went down, according to Kyrylo Tymoshenko, the deputy head of the Ukrainian president’s office.

Oleksiy Kuleba, the head of the regional military administration in Kyiv, said that 18 people died and 29 others were hurt in the tragedy in Brovary.

After the collision, there was a fire that broke out in the neighborhood near the kindergarten, and the staff and students had to evacuate the building. The helicopter’s remains were visible outside the burning building.

The helicopter may have hit the nursery before crashing near a house at night when there was fog in the air, according to the first reports.

Along with Mr. Monastyrsky, two other high-ranking officials from the Ministry of the Interior were also taken out.

While Yurii Lubkovich was in charge of organizing the operations of the ministry in his role as state secretary, Yevhen Yenin served as the ministry’s first deputy minister. Before he became the minister of the interior, Mr. Yenin was a crucial diplomat for the Ukrainian government.

An assistant to the Ministry of the Interior named Anton Herashchenko stated that all three guys were friends as well as leaders who had tried to make Ukraine stronger.
